Verith ("we," "us," "Verith") operates a job application tracker and an anonymous, community-sourced Company Insights section (together, the "Service"). This Policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, and — because anonymity is central to how Company Insights works — what we deliberately don't collect or show. It applies to everyone who uses verith.co.
What we collect depends entirely on how you use Verith. We don't require more than the Service actually needs to function.
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account & profile | Name, email address, profile photo, headline, work history, education, and any other details you choose to add to your profile |
| Job tracker data | Jobs you save or apply to, the stage you mark them at, notes, and answers to tracker questions (job description clarity, interview rounds, offer details, etc.) |
| Anonymous Company Insights submissions | Reviews, interview reports, and pay & benefits reports you choose to share — see section 3 for exactly what is and isn't tied to your identity |
| Connections & messages | Connection requests, direct messages with other members, if you use those features |
| Login & security | Sign-in method (Google or email), login timestamps, session tokens |
| Support requests | Anything you send us directly, e.g. a bug report or question |
We do not collect demographic data (race, gender, religion, disability, etc.), and we do not use your data to power advertising — Verith doesn't run ads.
| Purpose | Data used |
|---|---|
| Operate your account and job tracker | Account & profile, job tracker data |
| Show anonymous reports on Company Insights | Only the fields described in section 3 — never your name or account |
| Send you transactional emails | Verification codes, submission confirmations, moderation decisions — account email only |
| Prevent spam and abuse | Login & security, an internal (never public) link between your account and your own submissions |
| Improve the Service | Aggregated, de-identified usage patterns — never sold or shared with advertisers |
This is the section that matters most, so we're being direct:
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it with advertisers. We use the services below to run Verith. Each one receives only what it needs to do its job:
| Service | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosts the website and runs our servers | Every request to Verith, including your IP address |
| Supabase | Database, file storage and sign-in | Your account, profile, uploads, posts and messages |
| Resend | Sends our emails | Your email address and the content of emails we send you |
| Anthropic (Claude) | AI features: reading a resume you upload to fill in your profile, reading job descriptions you paste, and writing company summaries from public websites | The resume text or job description you provide, and profile details needed for the feature. Anthropic's API terms say it doesn't train its models on this data. |
| "Continue with Google" sign-in, web fonts, and company logos | Your Google account basics if you use Google sign-in; otherwise your IP address when fonts or logos load | |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Checks that a real person is sending certain messages | Browser and device signals needed for the check |
| Clearbit | Suggests company names as you type in your profile | The text you type into the company field |
| GIPHY | GIF search in community replies | Your search terms and IP address when you search or view GIFs |
| CookieYes | Shows the cookie banner and remembers your choices | Your cookie choices and IP address |
We may also disclose data if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Use, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Verith, our users, or the public.
We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep Verith working. We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't run analytics trackers.
| Type | Purpose | Can you turn it off? |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Keeps you signed in, keeps your account secure, and remembers your cookie choices | No. Verith doesn't work without these. |
| Functional | Remembers your preferences, a backup of your job tracker on this device, and choices like posts you've hidden in the community | Yes, in cookie settings |
| Third-party services | Some services listed in section 4 (Cloudflare Turnstile, Google sign-in) may set their own cookies when you use the feature they power | These load only when you use that feature |
On your first visit, a banner asks which optional cookies you allow. You can change your choice at any time from "Cookie preferences" in the site footer or from Settings, and you can clear cookies through your browser.
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal profile data; anonymous Company Insights submissions already published stay up (they were never publicly tied to your identity), but the internal link to your account is deleted along with it.
We use industry-standard technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls on our database. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security — but we don't treat that as an excuse to collect more than we need.
We don't discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights.
Verith is not directed at anyone under 18. If we learn a minor has created an account, we'll remove it.
If we make a material change, we'll post the update here with a new "Last updated" date. Continuing to use Verith after a change means you accept the update.
