Community Guidelines

Verith Community is a space for verified professionals to share honest, first-hand experiences and perspectives about their careers. All content posted here represents the views and experiences of individual members, not Verith. Members are solely responsible for ensuring their posts comply with these guidelines, applicable law, and any agreements they have with third parties.

These guidelines exist to keep this a useful, trustworthy, and legally sound space for everyone in it.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to access or use Verith Community. By using the platform, you confirm that you meet this requirement and are not prohibited from doing so by applicable law.

What this space is for

Members are encouraged to share genuine, first-hand professional experiences and perspectives openly and honestly. Topics that belong here include:

Compensation, offers, negotiations, and pay transparency
Hiring experiences as a candidate or as someone involved in the hiring process
Workplace culture, management practices, and team dynamics
Layoffs, career transitions, and job searching
Workplace stress, burnout, and the personal toll of professional experiences
Industry trends, observations, and professional opinions
Career decisions, pivots, and professional development
Sharing what you are building, genuinely and in good faith

Members are welcome to speak candidly and directly about their professional experiences within the boundaries of these guidelines.

The five community rules

These apply to every member equally, regardless of tier.

1. No individual names. You may reference companies, roles, departments, and industries. You may not identify specific individuals by name or in a way that makes them personally identifiable. Use general references such as "the hiring team" or "a former manager" rather than naming anyone directly.

2. No profanity. Members may share raw, honest, and emotional accounts of their experiences. All posts must remain free of profanity, including creative substitutions or intentional misspellings intended to work around this rule.

3. Work and career topics only. Verith Community is a professional space. Posts must relate to work, career, or industry. Off-topic content will be removed.

4. Self-promotion is permitted within reason. Members may share what they are building or offer their professional perspective in a single dedicated post. Repeated promotion across multiple threads, or using replies as unsolicited pitches, is not permitted.

5. No solicitation or recruiter outreach directed at members. This community is not a sourcing or sales channel. Reaching out to other members to recruit, sell, or pitch them directly is prohibited. Verith's jobs section exists for recruitment-related activity.

Content standards

All content posted on Verith must reflect your genuine, authentic experience or perspective. You represent that:

Your posts reflect your honest opinion and are not false, fabricated, or intentionally misleading
You have not been compensated, incentivized, or pressured by any employer or third party to submit content
Your content does not impersonate any person, company, or organization
Your content does not disclose information you are legally prohibited from sharing, including content covered by a non-disclosure agreement, non-public financial data, trade secrets, or proprietary business information

Verith does not verify the accuracy of member-submitted content and makes no representations regarding its truthfulness, completeness, or reliability. Members rely on content here at their own discretion.

Content that will be removed

Verith reserves the right to remove any content that, in its sole discretion, violates these guidelines or applicable law. This includes but is not limited to content containing:

Hateful speech targeting a person or group based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic
Sexual content of any kind
Profanity including substitutions and intentional workarounds
Identification of specific individuals by name or other identifying detail
Harassment, threats, or intimidation directed at any person
Doxing or privacy violations including sharing another person's personal information, contact details, or location without their consent
Violence or threats of violence of any kind
False statements of fact presented as true
Fabricated, incentivized, or inauthentic content that does not reflect genuine personal experience
Impersonation of any person, employer, or organization
Confidential or legally protected information including content covered by an NDA, non-public financial data, trade secrets, or proprietary business information
Spam, unsolicited promotion, or repeated solicitation
Content involving minors in any sexual, exploitative, or inappropriate context

Removal of a post does not constitute a determination that the post was defamatory, illegal, or otherwise actionable. Verith moderates solely at its own discretion to maintain community standards.

Account integrity

Each member may maintain one Verith account. You agree that you will not:

Create accounts under false or fraudulent pretenses
Create or use an account for anyone other than yourself
Create multiple accounts to submit content or interact with other members
Impersonate any person, employer, or organization, or misrepresent your professional background or credentials
Share access to your account with any other person
Use the platform to deceive, defraud, or manipulate other members

Verith may attempt to verify member employment history or professional status through various methods. Verith is not responsible if verification is incomplete or inaccurate.

Self-promotion guidelines

Permitted: A single post sharing what you are building, your professional perspective as a founder or builder, or expertise that contributes meaningfully to a conversation.

Use judgment: Mentioning your work in a reply when it is directly and genuinely relevant to what someone asked. If the connection is a stretch, leave it out.

Not permitted: Repeated promotional posts, pitching in unrelated threads, sending unsolicited messages to other members about your product or service, or using the community primarily as a distribution channel.

How your community identity works

Your community handle is not connected to your Verith professional profile for other members. Other members see only your handle, your verified role, your industry, and your tier. Your legal name, employer, photo, resume, and application history are not displayed in the community.

Verith does not display your real identity to other community members. However, Verith may access account information as required by law or pursuant to a valid legal process, consistent with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Verith will endeavor to protect member anonymity against disclosure requests where permitted by law, but makes no guarantee that it will do so or that any such effort will be successful.

Vouching

When you vouch for a post, you are indicating that the experience described matches something you personally went through. A vouch is a statement of personal recognition, not necessarily agreement with the member's interpretation or conclusions. Vouches associated with posts that are removed for guideline violations are also removed. Accounts that vouch in patterns inconsistent with their verified professional profile are subject to review and moderation at Verith's discretion.

Employer conduct

Employers may not offer incentives in exchange for content related to their company. Employers may not pressure, coerce, or direct employees or former employees to submit, modify, or retract content on the platform. Verith will remove content where it has reason to believe the content was submitted as a result of employer pressure or incentive.

Platform integrity

You agree that you will not:

Use automated scripts, bots, or other software to access, scrape, or collect data from the platform without Verith's written permission
Introduce malware, viruses, or any software designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to the platform
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise tamper with any part of the platform
Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the platform or the experience of other members
Circumvent any security, access control, or moderation feature of the platform

Content license

By submitting content to Verith, you grant Verith a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, store, and moderate that content in connection with operating and improving the platform. You retain ownership of your content. Verith does not claim intellectual property rights in what you post.

Moderation and enforcement

Posts that violate these guidelines are subject to removal at Verith's discretion. Vouched points associated with a removed post are also removed. Repeated violations may result in temporary suspension or permanent removal of community access. Verith's enforcement decisions are final and made at its sole discretion.

Moderation actions taken in the community do not affect your Verith professional profile or job verification status, which are maintained separately.

To report content that may violate these guidelines, use the report function on the post. Verith reviews reported content and takes action consistent with these guidelines.

Platform liability and Section 230 protection

Verith is an interactive computer service provider as defined under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (47 U.S.C. § 230). Verith is not the publisher or speaker of any content posted by members and is not liable for member-generated content. Members are the content providers and are solely responsible for what they post.

All content posted on the Verith platform, including but not limited to community posts, professional profile posts, comments, company reviews, interview reports, and pay submissions, represents the personal views and experiences of individual members. Verith does not verify the accuracy of member-submitted content and makes no representations regarding the truthfulness, completeness, or reliability of any content posted by members. Nothing posted on the Verith platform constitutes legal, financial, or professional advice. Members should exercise their own judgment when relying on information shared here.

Updates to these guidelines

These guidelines may be updated periodically. Continued use of Verith Community following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised guidelines. Questions can be directed to our support team.
