Photolithography Process Technician
About the job
The Photolithography Process Technician is responsible for sustaining daily manufacturing operations within the photolithography department This role focuses on operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting ASML steppers and scanners alongside TEL (Tokyo Electron) track systems during 12-hour compressed work week shifts to ensure optimal product quality, tool uptime, and yield targets.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Shift Operations: Execute production runs according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), managing wafer lots through automated TEL track coater/developer modules and ASML exposure tools.
Process Monitoring & SPC: Monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts to track tool and process performance; identify, flag, and contain out-of-control or out-of-specification (OOC/OOS) events.
Troubleshooting & Qualification: Qualify photolithography equipment for production after maintenance or downs, performing first-line troubleshooting on track fluidics, wafer handling errors, focus/exposure offsets, and overlay misalignments.
Defect & Metrology Analysis: Utilize metrology tools (CD-SEM, overlay measurement systems, automated defect inspection) to verify critical dimensions and alignment accuracy, disposing of wafers based on predefined criteria.
Rework Management: Identify lithography printing failures, initiate wafer rework procedures (resist strip and clean), and document root causes.
Collaboration & Handover: Partner closely with Equipment Technicians and Process Engineers to resolve complex ASML/TEL tool failures, and provide clear, detailed shift handovers to ensure continuity across alternating teams.
Safety & Cleanroom Compliance: Strict adherence to cleanroom protocols (wearing full bunny suit), chemical safety (handling photoresists, developers, solvents), and standard hazardous materials procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 2 years of experience working inside a semiconductor cleanroom environment, with hands-on experience operating ASML steppers/scanners and TEL track systems.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with photolithography manufacturing execution systems (MES), basic SPC software, and recipe selection for automated lithography clusters.
Physical & Schedule Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and carry wafer pods inside a cleanroom environment for the duration of a 12-hour compressed work week shift (including scheduled days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the shift schedule).
